Daemen College will officially unveil The Den, a newly redesigned modern dining and entertainment space, at a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 9 on the first floor of the Wick Campus Center.
The opening celebration will include remarks delivered by Daemen President Gary A. Olson; Dr. Greg Nayor, vice president for student affairs; Brandon Michael, president of the Daemen Student Association; and Bryan West, president/owner of Hallmark Management Services, the college’s dining provider. A ribbon cutting and reception with live music are also planned for the event.
Following extensive renovations during the summer, The Den was completed for the start of the fall semester at Daemen. The refurbished dining and social space features a modern design with all-new furniture and twice as many seats as the site of the former Cyber Café.
The facility also includes a state-of-the-art entertainment system, an outdoor terrace area, a large video wall and several smaller video screens, and multiple plugins for mobile devices. Live entertainment presented by local musicians will take place Saturdays in The Den’s performance space.
In addition to traditional grill favorites, The Den will offer three rotating made-to-order dining options, and special Friday theme events and meals served throughout the academic year.
The Den’s grand opening event is being held as part of the college’s second annual Daemen Day in Amherst, a celebration designed to connect the college community with Main Street’s thriving business district.
