Jillian Ziemianski has joined the Daemen College Learning Center as a writing specialist. In this role, she oversees peer and professional writing coaches, provides training and professional development opportunities for new academic coaches, and manages writing coaching sessions for undergraduate and graduate students. She also assists with developing and performing outreach activities, including class visits, workshops, and consultations with faculty.
Originally from Western New York, Ziemianski most recently lived in Beijing, China, where she taught English as a second language. She also previously served as a liberal arts adjunct instructor and coordinated the English section of Bryant and Stratton College’s Pre-College Academy.
Ziemianski earned an MFA in creative writing from Minnesota State University and a bachelor’s degree in English from SUNY Fredonia.
During her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking on nature trails around New York, reading, movies, and watching a good television series.
