Sandra Looker, assistant director of financial aid at Daemen College, has been elected to a two-year term as secretary of the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA) Region 1.
NYSFAAA advocates for and promotes equal access to post-secondary education for all students. The organization offers education, professional development, and networking opportunities to members.
Looker, who has worked in Daemen’s Office of Financial Aid for 10 years, assists students and families with the financial aid process, plans financial aid packages, processes student loans and grants, and manages the office social media. Prior to joining financial aid, she worked in student accounts and was an adjunct professor in the education department.
Looker earned a master’s degree in education from Roberts Wesleyan College and a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
She worked as a graphic designer in Rochester and then became a teacher. She taught kindergarten and first grade in Rochester City Schools before moving back to Buffalo to teach elementary art at a charter school.
A resident of North Buffalo, Looker enjoys spending her free time on various projects and with her businesses Sandy’s Dandies and Gray Couch Studio.
