Daemen University has been included in the newly released “Wall Street Journal College Rankings of the 2025 Best Colleges in the U.S.”, the only private institution in the region to appear in the rankings. The University at Buffalo was also listed.
The rankings are of the top 500 institutions in the nation, placing the institutions on the WSJ list among the top 20% of four-year colleges and universities in the country.
“It is an honor for Daemen to be recognized with other prestigious universities among the top universities in the nation,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson, “Daemen transforms graduates’ futures through an affordable, personalized private education with a rigorous foundation in the liberal arts, exceptional career preparation, and a recognized return on investment.”
The Wall Street Journal partnered with College Pulse, a survey research firm, and data scientists from Statistica, to gather data and calculate outcomes such as graduation rates and return on investment in terms of graduate salaries.
The rankings focus on three areas: student outcomes, student survey feedback, and diversity. In an introduction to the rankings, the authors explain that the rankings analysis “measures how well each college sets graduates up for financial success,” and “how much a school improves students’ chances of graduating and their future earnings, balancing these outcomes with feedback from students on college life.”
