Dr. Veronica Valazza joined Daemen College this fall as a full-time assistant professor of nursing, having most recently served as an adjunct faculty member in the department.
Valazza, who has more than 20 years of experience as a nursing professional, previously worked as nurse manager at Kaleida Health and also at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. A specialist in critical care, she has also served as clinical safety specialist at Catholic Health.
Valazza serves on the Financial Committee of the American Nurses Association and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Western New York Professional Nurses Association, and the American College of Healthcare Executives, among others. She is also active in efforts to improve health care policy as a member of the Professional Nurses Association’s Legislative Committee.
She earned a doctor of nursing practice from Capella University, and an MBA in healthcare management, a master’s degree in nursing leadership, and bachelor’s degree in nursing, all from Western Governors University.
In her spare time, Valazza enjoys traveling, quilting, knitting, and theater events. She resides in Amherst with her pet cat, Callie.
