Daemen University’s Distinguished Professor of Political Science & Pre Law Advisor Dr. Lisa K. Parshall has been elected to the board of the Society for History in the Federal Government, serving alongside governmental historians from various federal agencies and a handful of academics.
The Society is dedicated to promoting and preserving the history of the federal government, and Dr. Parshall is a prominent scholar in public administration and the presidency.
“This is a true honor for Dr. Parshall and Daemen University,” said President Gary A. Olson. “Her scholarship and expertise within the field of political science have made an extraordinary impact on society.”
For the last three years, Parshall served as an assistant editor for the association’s Federal History Journal, working on the constitutional roundtable and legal history features.
She was recently interviewed by three national publications, Stateline, Governing, and The Bond Buyer regarding the government shutdown to share her insight on the topic.
Parshall is an accomplished author who has published five books and six law review articles. In addition, she has published a number of policy reports and journal articles, and her work has been cited in several publications. Since 2018, Parshall has served as a policy fellow for the Rockefeller Institute of Government and organizes its annual Local Government Lab conference, bringing together leading scholars, practitioners, and policy makers in the field of state and local governance. In 2024, she was recognized by the American Society for Public Administration Buffalo-Niagara chapter (ASPA) as an Outstanding Educator in the field of Public Administration.
