CANISIUS ALUMNI CLASSIC — COMPLETE RESULTS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Another race, another victory for the Daemen College women's cross country team. Today's win came at the Canisius Alumni Classic, which took place at Delaware Park in Buffalo, N.Y. The Wildcats placed first out of a 12 team field, which featured a mix of NCAA Division I, II and III teams. It marked the fourth team title in five races for the Wildcats this season.

Daemen, which is ranked fifth in the latest NCAA Division II East Region poll released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), produced three of the top eight finishers today and posted team score of 63. Race host Canisius placed second (74), while Rochester Institute of Technology (78), SUNY Geneseo (89) and Niagara University (134) rounded out the top five.

Canisius produced the individual champion, as senior Libby Benzer posted a time of 18:41.5 over the 5K race. Benzer finished just two seconds ahead of junior Katie Cobos of RIT (18:43.9).

Daemen returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 23) when it takes part in the East Coast Conference Championship on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y.
