Megan Beardi began working as a marketing assistant at Daemen College in 2017, and was then promoted to assistant director of graduate admissions—all while completing her master’s degree in leadership and innovation at the college.
Beardi, who also earned a degree in communications from University at Buffalo, said she was interested in the leadership and innovation program at Daemen because she “felt the program would help me develop the essential skills needed to manage a team.”
“It taught me to have emotional intelligence when leading a team, being able to not just be a boss, but to better understand emotionally those who work under you,” she said. “Also, it’s taught me about different personality traits and how to support them to bring out their best assets to generate success.”
Beardi has worked diligently to increase the enrollment for our graduate programs over the past few years, and recently became director of graduate and transfer admissions. She also works with the Testing and Training International (TTI) programs for Daemen’s Brooklyn, New York campus.
Now Beardi leads her team members using critical skills she learned from her education and work experience at Daemen.
Beardi said one of the many reasons she enjoys working at Daemen is because it is a close-knit, supportive community.
Also, “the Enrollment Management Department offers opportunities for you to grow and provides professional development opportunities to us as employees,” she explained.
Beardi resides in Cheektowaga and enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Nicholas, and their two children Luciana and Dominic.
