AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's soccer moved up one spot in the United Soccer Coaches Division II East region poll. Daemen, which made its debut in the poll last week at No. 10, is ranked ninth in this week's poll, which was released this afternoon. Daemen's appearance in last week's poll marked the first time the Wildcats have appeared in the regional rankings since the end of the 2019 season.

The Wildcats are one of the hottest teams in the region, having gone unbeaten over their last eight games (6-0-2). Daemen is coming off a 1-1 draw with Adelphi University, which is ranked second in the region and 17th nationally. The result moved the Wildcats to 6-3-2 on the year. The eight-match unbeaten streak is the longest for the Wildcats since opening the 2019 season 6-0-2. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents 22-5 during their current unbeaten streak. Sophomore Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), a two-time East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week selection, has registered a point in each of the last seven games and leads the ECC in goals (10) and points (23). Freshman Magda Carpenter (Lebanon, Conn.), a two-time ECC Rookie of the Week selection, scored twice in recent win over Molloy and ranks second on the team in goals (5) and points (12). Sophomore goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), a three-time ECC Defensive Player of the Week selection, has played every minute in goal this season and has allowed just five goals over the last eight games. Among the ECC leaders, she ranks first in save percentage (.850), second in both total saves (68) and wins (6) and fourth in goals against average (1.09).

Daemen will have another tough test tomorrow (Oct. 18) when it travels to longtime rival Roberts Wesleyan University for an ECC match. RWU currently sits atop the ECC standings, while Daemen is in second place. The Redhawks are unbeaten in their last nine games (7-0-2) and are ranked No. 7 in the region.

Undefeated College of Saint Rose tops the regional poll, followed by Adelphi, Saint Anselm College, Jefferson University, Southern New Hampshire University, Wilmington University, Roberts Wesleyan University, Bentley University, Daemen and Pace University.
