By | September 30, 2025

Daemen University President Gary A. Olson announced the launch of a $40 million comprehensive campaign — Moving Forward: The Campaign for Daemen’s Future — a pivotal fundraising campaign to elevate academic excellence, prepare tomorrow’s leaders, and enhance university infrastructure over the next five years, during Daemen’s Annual Scholarship Gala on Friday, Sept. 26.Logo with text that says: Moving Forward The Campaign for Daemen's Future

The campaign, co-chaired by Daemen trustees John R. Yurtchuk, chairman of Genesis Development and Construction, and Scott Bieler, president and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group, is the institution’s second comprehensive campaign, and marks a significant increase from its first-ever $22 million comprehensive campaign launched in 2017, which exceeded its fundraising goal by $4.5 million.

Yurtchuk and Bieler believe in the strategic vision of Olson and his Cabinet, saying, “We have experienced first-hand the impact the institution has had not only on students’ personal and professional growth, but also on the greater community. We are confident Daemen will continue to inspire generations to change the world.”

Olson echoes that sentiment, as do those in the community. “Our donors trust that Daemen’s future and sustainability are worth their investment,” he said. “Many have already stepped up to help us invest in the campus of the future, and I look forward to collaborating with them to continue to raise the academic bar and create the most promising future for our students.”

Olson and his wife, Dr. Lynn Worsham, are embodying these words by pledging a $1 million donation in bequest — their second million dollar gift to the university. “We both are thoroughly dedicated to Daemen, our students, and our faculty and staff, and we couldn’t think of a more deserving organization than this wonderful university.
