A tree planting ceremony in recognition of the sacrifice of U.S. veterans will be held on Veterans Day at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Daemen College’s Founders Walkway, outside of the college’s historic Rosary Hall.
Opening remarks will be given by Dr. Michael Brogan, senior vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, followed by the tree planting. A Daemen veteran/military-aligned student will participate in a ceremonial ringing of Daemen’s Founders Bell in commemoration of Veterans Day.
“It is during these challenging and difficult times that it is even more important to recognize and honor all of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have served our country and defended it from tyranny,” said F. Paul Muccigrosso II, director of veteran services. “I join the entire Daemen College community in recognizing these brave Americans.”
In addition to the tree planting, the Daemen community remembered U.S. veterans and shared what Veterans Day means to them on a special online whiteboard set up for the celebration. A video to commemorate Veterans Day will also be shared with the campus community on Nov. 11.
