Four members of the Daemen University community were recognized during the annual faculty and staff award ceremony by President Gary A. Olson following the spring State of the University address on April 28.
Mike Miranto, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications and Operations, was recognized as the inaugural recipient of the President’s Excellence Award. The award was created to celebrate those who have worked to contribute to the success of Daemen and are role models of excellence, far exceeding the excellent performance expected of faculty and staff.
President Olson said Miranto exemplifies these attributes and “has played a central role in getting the ‘Daemen’ name out to the public and fostering a genuine pride for the university.”
This year’s other honorees included Theresa Kolb, mail room supervisor, Outstanding Staff Award; Scott Rowe, associate director of financial aid, Outstanding Administrator Award; and Dr. Jennifer Scheid, associate professor of physical therapy, Outstanding Faculty Award.
The President also presented Lindsay Masters, the director of academic support and engagement, with the Buffalo Business First Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Awareness (IDEA) Awards. Masters is one of 19 people to receive the award, which honors those who stand out as champions of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
