CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Junior outside hitter Zach Schneider (Lockport, N.Y.) and sophomore right side Cameron Milligan (Pavilion, N.Y.) of Daemen University have each been named to the Independent Volleyball Association (IVA) Championship All-Tournament Team. The two-day tournament was held this past weekend at Curry Arena on the campus of Queens University and it featured eight competing teams - all independent members of NCAA Division I-II. The All-Tournament Team was selected by the eight participating head coaches.

Schneider and Milligan were key cogs in Daemen's best-ever performance at the tournament, leading the Wildcats to the final round. Daemen, the tournament's No. 1 seed from the North Region, picked up wins over Tusculum (3-0) and host Queens (3-1) in the opening two rounds last Friday. The Wildcats were upended in Saturday's tournament final, falling in three sets to Lincoln Memorial (South Region No. 1 seed) which earned its fourth straight IVA title.

Schneider totaled a team-high 44 kills and averaged 4.4 kills per set during the tournament, reaching double figures in all three matches. His offensive production included the 500th kill of his career, making him the first player in program history to reach that amount. He finished the season with 257 kills - a new program record.

If Schneider was Batman, Milligan played a good Robin, contributing 33 total kills (3.3 kills/set). He totaled 12 kills in both of Daemen's tournament wins.

Schneider and Milligan were joined on the All-Tournament Team by Jack Lydon of Fairleigh Dickinson, Jake Whyte of Tusculum, Veit Bils of Limestone, Daniel Leitao of Queens and Johansen Negron, Attia Soliman and Cole Campisano of Lincoln Memorial. In addition, LMU setter Kohl Kutsch was named the tournament's MVP.

Daemen finished the 2022 season with a 16-6 overall record to establish a new program benchmark for wins.
