AMHERST, N.Y. - For the first time in her Daemen career, soccer and lacrosse multi sport athlete Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) was named the 2024-25 Daemen University Female Athlete of the Year. The announcement was made at the 2025 Wildcat Night of Honors, an annual event held on campus to recognize the achievements of the university's intercollegiate teams and student-athletes. This is the second time in her Daemen career Miranto has earned a major award as she was named Daemen University Female Newcomer of the Year in 2023.

We will be featuring each of the major award winners throughout this week on www.daemenwildcats.com.

Miranto enjoyed a stellar season both on the soccer pitch and the lacrosse field. Starting in the fall, the junior earned NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer All-East Region First Team honors and was tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-East Region Second Team for the second consecutive season.

The ECC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and All-ECC First Team selection, Miranto repeated as the ECC's Offensive Player of the Year after she ended the year with 30 points, highlighted by her team-leading 12 goals. The two-time ECC Offensive Player of the Week recorded a least one point in 10 of a possible 18 matches this fall, highlighted by a streak of four-or-more points in three consecutive games from Sept. 21 at the College of Staten Island through Sept. 28 at St. Thomas Aquinas College. The junior forward became the fourth player in program history to surpass 30 goals with her goal against Queens (Oct. 19) and currently is three goals away from tying Samantha Engel for third all-time with 36. Miranto helped lead the Wildcats to a near perfect 6-1 mark during conference play and an appearance in the ECC Women's Soccer Championship match against Molloy.

On the lacrosse field, Miranto appeared in 15 games with 10 starts and totaled 12 total points (7G, 5A) playing primarily as a defender and midfielder. Miranto had one of her best games during the year on March 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas as she registered four total points (2G, 2A) and collected a season-high five draw controls as the Wildcats downed the Spartans 24-3. The 24 total goals set a new program record for goals in a game as well. The junior dual athlete also caused a season-high two turnovers at D'Youville (April 23) and helped the 'Cats take down the Saints, 13-12, in overtime to punch their ticket to the ECC Women's Lacrosse Championship for the first time in program history.

Additional nominees for the 2024-25 Female Athlete of the Year were Camryn Bailey (XC/WT&F), Giselle Giraud (WVB), Mollie Gizicki (BOWL), Claire Pikett (WBB) and Frida Rubio (WTEN).

Miranto is the third soccer player and first lacrosse player to collect the award. She is also the first multi sport athlete to be tabbed Female Athlete of the Year as well.
