In a new video message to the campus community, Daemen College President Gary Olson praised faculty, staff, and students for persevering and for all they have accomplished while facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Daemen’s aggressive measures in response to the coronavirus crisis have paid off for our college,” said President Olson. “The Daemen family has really stepped up and done a fabulous job handling this extremely challenging situation.”
President Olson pointed out that in addition to the enormous task of moving all classes online, a remote format has been used to continue moving forward on several major college efforts, including Daemen’s strategic and master plans. He also noted a number of achievements by faculty, staff, and departments across the college.
He further emphasized that Daemen intends to hold classes on campus in the fall, adding that extensive planning is going into making this possible while also protecting the health and safety of the college community.
He ended by congratulating the graduating seniors for a job well done, and he also congratulated Daemen’s first-year students, reminding them of an old expression: “if you can make it through your first year of college, you can make it all the way through to your degree.”
