As much of the nation has now moved to communicating via a computer screen, Daemen College President Gary Olson has addressed the campus community via a video message. In this address, he speaks to the college’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, especially the decision to remain open and to ensure the continuity of classes for students and pay for employees. He also speaks to the college’s strength and perseverance as a campus community during this unprecedented time.
The infrastructure already in place at Daemen due to the tremendous work of the Information Technology team has made this transition to distance learning and remote working much smoother than that experienced by many peer institutions. The investments in software applications such as Dialpad, Zoom, and Google Hangouts have kept the campus connected from afar.
The video message is in addition to President Olson’s previous communications to the college community, which are available on Daemen’s COVID-19 website.
