On February 19th, Daemen recognized students graduating from the Bachelor of Arts Liberal Studies-Israel program at a ceremony in Brooklyn.
Sara Adler and Yehudis Fischer, were awarded Outstanding Academic Achievement awards for earning a 4.0 and 3.95 GPA, respectively. Additionally, 39 students across the cohorts were recognized for graduating with honors with GPAs above 3.5.
The event was attended by students and their families, as well Dr. Heather Stassen, Dean of the College of Arts, Science, and Education, and Dr. Denise Emer, Program Director for the BA Liberal Studies program. “It was such an honor to share this experience with students and their families,” said Dr. Emer. “This is a special event and milestone for these students who took part in an incredible learning experience.”
Julie Zulewski, Dean of Enrollment Management, said, “I am so proud to be affiliated with this Daemen University program that opens the doors for education for young Orthodox Jewish women. I am continually inspired by their enthusiasm and dedication for learning.”
The program is an opportunity for Daemen students, in collaboration with Testing and Training International (TTI) to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies over an 18-month period, beginning with online coursework their summer, followed by a yearlong study abroad in Israel taking face-to-face coursework in seminaries, and culminating with a final summer of online coursework with Daemen upon their return.
Upon graduation, students may continue to one of Daemen’s many graduate programs in popular fields such as Behavioral Analysis, Social Work, or Special Education.
