Gerald Beverly received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in sport management from Daemen College. As a student, he played on the men’s basketball team and is considered one of the all-time best players in the college’s history, including as one of only two players to total more than 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
“Attending Daemen was one of the best decisions of my life,” said Beverly. “My time at the college helped me to grow as a person and to progress in the sport I love so much, which led to the opportunity for me to pursue my dream of playing in the NBA.”
While at Daemen, Beverly was honored as a two-time East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year selection and earned first-team All-ECC honors in his junior and senior years. In addition, he was named the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Most Outstanding Player in 2014-15, the season the Wildcats played in the USCAA national championship in the team’s final year transitioning to full NCAA Division II membership.
Beverly started his pro career with the Telekom Baskets in Germany, and now plays for the Canton Charge in the NBA Development League.
“The relationships I have built at the college have greatly helped me, and I know I can turn to my Daemen family for advice and support with my professional endeavors,” said Beverly. “I cherish every moment I have had at Daemen and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
