AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's track and field team generated eight all-conference honors, the East Coast Conference announced today. The selection of All-ECC athletes is based on individual finishes at the ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships which was held last night at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.

Graduate student Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ontario) capped off an outstanding indoor season, as she placed first in the mile and finished second in both the 1,000 and 3,000 meters, which earned her first-team All-ECC in all three events.

Nolet began her night by placing first out of 13 runners in the mile. She overcame Acacia Barber of Roberts Wesleyan down the stretch and crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 5:08.27—eclipsing her previous best time of 5:15.42 that she set earlier this year at the YSU Mid Major Invitational. The time was just three seconds shy of the school record (5:05.54) set by Mackenzie Donahue at the 2017 Brockport Multi Invitational. Nolet would go on to place second in both the 1,000 meters (3:06.00) and the 3,000 meters (10:46.06). Nolet has run nine races this season and has placed in the top four in all nine races. She placed first in the mile at three events this season.

Nolet is just the fourth women's track and field athlete from Daemen to earn All-ECC First Team honors in multiple events during the indoor season, joining Donahue (2016, 2017), Brittany Denton (2018) and Marcy Colca (2022). Including cross country, Nolet has earned All-ECC honors for her performances at seven consecutive conference championship meets dating back to the 2019 ECC Cross Country Championships. She earned ECC Runner of the Year honors this past fall after placing first at the 2022 ECC Women's Cross Country Championships.

Nolet was one of two Daemen runners to earn All-ECC honors in both the mile and the 3,000 meters. Junior Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) placed second among Daemen runners and fourth overall in the mile with a personal best time of 5:24.32—eclipsing her previous best time of 5:30.75 that he posted at the Highlander Invitational last month. Bailey would also place fourth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11:05.18.

Graduate student Hannah Thomas (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) earned second team all-conference honors in the 800 meters for the second straight year, as she placed third out of 16 runners with a personal best time for an indoor event (2:23.86).

Freshman Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) ran the 5,000 meters for the first time in her brief career and earned second team all-conference honors after placing third with a time of 19:20.18.

Sophomore Alyssa Amirato (Depew, N.Y.) earned second team All-ECC honors for the second straight year after she placed fourth in the triple jump with a school-record leap 10.84 meters—breaking her own record of 10.75 meters that she set earlier this year at the Houghton December Classic. Amirato, earned second team All-ECC honors in the long jump last year and set the program record in the long jump (5.02 meters) last month at the YSU Mid Major Invitational. She placed ninth in the long jump at the ECC Championships with a leap of 4.75 meters.

Daemen's eight all-conference selections are the second most for any indoor season in program history, just behind the 11 the Wildcats claimed last year. The Wildcats finished in fifth place at the ECC Championships.
