Joyce Strobel has been promoted to assistant director of publications at Daemen College, having most recently served as a graphic designer. In this role, she continues to support the graphic design needs of campus clients and is also responsible for design for special projects, including the Scholarship Gala, commencement, and the “Drive to 75” campaign.
Strobel, a recipient of the college’s Outstanding Staff Award, joined Daemen in 1985 as the institution’s typesetter in the print shop, and was later named publications assistant in the publications department. She worked in this capacity until 2000 when she accepted a position as marketing coordinator at HSBC Mortgage Corp., where she was later promoted to marketing manager. In 2010, she returned to Daemen as a graphic designer.
In addition to her duties at Daemen, Strobel has served as vice chairman and on the board of Ten Thousand Villages. She also volunteers with SABAH (Spirited Athletes Bold at Heart), which serves those in the community challenged by disabilities. She is a past recipient of the SABAH Volunteer of the Year Award for her work on the organization’s annual gala and ice show.
Strobel resides in Amherst with her husband, Peter, and their golden retriever, Lily. She enjoys camping, arts and crafts, and spending time with her 16 nieces and nephews.
