The Daemen College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has led a coordinated effort for the college’s 18 intercollegiate athletic teams to participate in an Adopt An Angel program this holiday season.
In collaboration with Baker Victory Preventive Services, which works with families who are experiencing difficulties, Daemen teams have “adopted” 10 children and will provide holiday gifts to each of them.
“We are grateful to have found a partner in Baker Victory Preventive Services for our Adopt An Angel initiative,” said Hailey Dietrich, student-athlete success and community engagement coordinator for Daemen Athletics. “The holiday season provides a great opportunity for our student-athletes to give back to the community, and I’m proud of the way each of our teams came together to support this important program. There’s no better feeling than seeing an expression of joy on children’s faces this time of year.”
Efforts from Daemen’s student-athletes are in support of the mission of Baker Victory Preventive Services to preserve the family unit and to avoid placement of a child outside of their home.
The Daemen SAAC is comprised of student-athletes who provide insight on the student-athlete experience and help drive community outreach efforts for Daemen Athletics.
