In her capacity as a policy fellow with the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government, Dr. Lisa Parshall, distinguished professor of political science, is participating in the state-commissioned study to recommend potential modifications to New York’s Foundation Aid formula. The current formula, established in 2007, is used to distribute $25 billion in annual funding for public elementary and secondary education. Dr. Parshall serves on the research team and is one of the study members collecting feedback from the public and education stakeholders through a series of five public hearings held in five different regions across the state.
