Last week, Daemen College President Gary Olson formally welcomed new transfer students and their families to the college. Students and their families gathered in a recently transformed Wick Dining room conducive to appropriate physical distancing while still allowing for social engagement and conversation.
This orientation is one of a series of welcome events for students as the college begins the reopening of campus for in-person learning. These sessions provide the tools and information needed to help students be successful, and they outline what students should expect over the next year.
Students heard from senior leaders of the college, as well as representatives from information technology, student affairs, and other offices. The presentations were meant to help students make a smooth transition to Daemen.
The Daemen College community prides itself in helping students succeed academically, emotionally, personally, and socially. Extensive work has gone in to creating a safe and welcoming environment amidst the current national crisis. Although the fall semester will not look like a typical one, Daemen is committed to providing students with an exceptional collegiate experience.
