Daemen University alum Emmanual Edwards, ‘22, won an award for his senior film for the Animation Program at the 56th Annual WorldFest-Houston Film Festival last month.
JOSH! earned a Silver Remi in the Independent Short Subject-Films & Video Animated (classic cel animation) category. The animated short film is a comedy about Josh, who just wants to watch cartoons and eat snacks on a Saturday morning but his mom has other plans – chores.
Jaquez DuBois and Tessa Santo, 2022 animation alums, each claimed a finalist laurel for their senior films.
“Having a Silver Award winner and two finalists at the Worldfest Houston is a testament to the hardwork and dedication of these students and the animation industry knowledge that our professional faculty share with them,” said Mike Jones, an assistant professor of animation. “A remarkable achievement by our 2022 alumni.”
Worldfest-Houston is the largest independent film festival in the world.
