A new independent survey of students graduating from Daemen College has found exceptionally high levels of satisfaction with their education and overall college experience, with an impressive 97 percent satisfaction reported by students.
The 2016 Graduating Student Survey, conducted by CCI Research, Inc., also showed an overwhelming majority of respondents had positive academic and social experiences. Overall, 97 percent agreed that faculty are supportive and knowledgeable, 95 percent reported the college has a welcoming and supportive social atmosphere, and 94 percent felt they had been treated fairly.
“These highly positive results reflect our commitment to creating a college experience that blends robust academic opportunities with an engaging and supportive campus environment,” said Daemen President Gary A. Olson. “We are pleased to know our students recognize the excellence of a Daemen education and the impact it will have on their future success.”
The survey also revealed that the vast majority of student respondents had improved key skills and abilities compared to when they first started their education at Daemen. In particular, 96 percent reported improvement in areas considered vital to their career, including communication, writing, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
According to the survey, Daemen’s quality, reputation, and program offerings were most often cited as the reasons students attended the college. Also, four of five students surveyed rated their financial aid support as adequate, good or excellent.
When asked about after graduation plans, more than one-third of graduating students indicated they plan to enroll in graduate programs at Daemen, more than half planned to pursue full-time employment, and one in three students had secured a job.
“We are continually seeking ways to enhance the excellent education our students receive by improving both classroom and extracurricular activities available on our beautiful campus,” said Dr. Patricia Ruppert Brown, vice president for enrollment management. “Findings from this survey confirm that we have created an environment where students can flourish and have a great college experience.”
