Amanda Best received her bachelor’s degree in business administration-marketing, with a minor in entrepreneurship in May 2016.
While at Daemen, she worked in various offices as a student work assistant, including helping with marketing efforts for enrollment, orientation, academic affairs, and the Office of the President.
Some of her most memorable moments at Daemen include: attending campus events, getting smoothies from 78 West, and successfully securing a study group room to herself in the RIC during finals week.
Shortly after graduating, Best started her corporate career at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, formerly HealthNow New York, as a provider service representative. A couple of years later, she transitioned into the human resources department as a corporate trainer in the company’s talent development unit.
She had the opportunity to play an intricate role in various relationship-building and management initiatives, job performance improvement programs, and by positively impacting others in their career paths.
Best is also actively engaged in a second career: a licensed NYS Real Estate Salesperson through WNY Metro Roberts Realty.
In May 2021, Best served as the keynote speaker at ALHANA during commencement week at Daemen. That same month she also graduated with a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Medaille College. Next, she wants to inhabit a leadership role that improves the performance of colleagues and the achievement of goals in an organization.
Best counts as a long-term aim to have a hand in establishing a human resource clinic in the City of Buffalo that will provide career and professional development services on a large scale.
“Daemen College has been very instrumental in my professional growth and development and has enabled me to fearlessly explore all of the opportunities the world has to offer,” she said. “Daemen is my home and will always have a special place in my heart!”
