Graduates of the Athletic Training (AT) program at Daemen College have again achieved a 100% overall pass rate on the national Board of Certification (BOC) exam.
Passing the BOC is required for those seeking professional positions in the growing AT field.
Since launching in 2012, the master’s-level program at Daemen has seen all of its graduates pass the exam.
“It’s a reflection of the strength of our program,” said Lynn Matthews, chair of the Athletic Training Department and an associate professor.
“The hard work of our faculty and students, and our high pass rate, is certainly a selling point we’re particularly proud of,” Matthews added.
Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), Daemen College’s AT program has again far exceeded the commission’s 70% pass rate standard.
“For nearly a decade, our program has prepared students to pass this necessary exam at a rate exceeding this national benchmark,” said Matthews.
Passing the exam allows for AT graduates to seek a license to practice in the field from a state board.
