Emily Burns Perryman
Emily Burns Perryman, vice president for institutional advancement, has been named as one of the six new 2021 Board of Directors members of the WNY Women’s Foundation, whose mission is to create a culture of possibility so each woman can live, grow, and lead to her fullest potential. In her new board role, Perryman will serve a three year term.
One of the most high profile organizations supporting women and girls in the Western New York region, Perryman joins its passionate board of well respected women, including Katherine S. Conway-Turner, Ph.D.; Alice Jacobs, Esq.; as well as Emeritae Advisory Board members Clotilde Dedecker and Ellen Grant, Ph.D., LCSW-R.
This year, the organization will focus on several key agenda items including the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on women, women ascending as leaders, and women’s economic empowerment.

The organization’s executive director Sheri Scavone is optimistic about 2021’s new leaders noting, “We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional class of board members to the WNY Women’s Foundation team in 2021. We are especially pleased to welcome long-time supporter Emily Burns Perryman to the Board of Directors. Emily brings a lively and creative skillset to our board and we look forward to working with her to boost the foundation’s profile in our community and beyond.”
Perryman is excited to get to work noting, “I look forward to advocacy and action that will support the women and girls of Western New York. The disproportionately detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on women has made it so that issues such as child care, inequity in the workplace, and other work and life issues are incredibly top of mind for me. The work of the foundation helps address our current realities and builds support for future generations of women. I look forward to finding creative ways to integrate my work at Daemen with that of the WNY Women’s Foundation.”
Perryman was recently promoted to her current position at Daemen in mid 2020. She oversees the division of Institutional Advancement and the areas of advancement, alumni relations, communications, development, fundraising, events, marketing and public relations. She joins new foundation board members Tiffany Adams, Jamie Batt, Shonda Brock, Catherine Earle, and Nickole Garrison.
