Monica Kosior earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with minors in human resource management and pre-law from Daemen College. She is also a graduate of Niagara College’s Wine Business Management Program.
While at Daemen, Kosior was a member of the women’s basketball team and president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Serving as team captain in her senior year, she finished her collegiate career with the highest field goal made percentage, scoring average per game, offensive rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and blocks per game. She continued her basketball success as a professional basketball player in Romania, the Czech Republic, and Spain.
Kosior is currently managing local wineries in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where her passion for wine began. She is the national trade marketing and procurement specialist for Mark Anthony Wine and Spirits, Inc., where she oversees procuring, negotiating, and purchasing all trade items for independent and national key accounts.
“I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Daemen,” said Kosior. “I was able to flourish both on the court and in the classroom because of the support I received from my coaches and mentors. One of my best memories is winning the National USCAA Women’s Basketball Championship in my senior year.”
A resident of Grimsby, Ont., Kosior is a strong advocate for local wineries and contributes articles to Vines Magazine and the Wines in Niagara blog.
