Vice President for Institutional Advancement Mary Glenn has announced the appointment of Emily Burns Perryman as associate vice president of marketing and communications at Daemen College. Her appointment is effective Aug. 5.
In this role, Perryman will lead Daemen’s marketing and communications initiatives, including the development and implementation of the college’s strategic marketing and branding plans. She will directly supervise the areas of marketing, communications, and publications.
“Emily brings tremendous knowledge and experience both in higher education and the private sector, and we are confident she will be a strong leader in building an integrated marketing and communications program for our college,” said Glenn. “As we look to further elevate Daemen’s prominence and academic excellence, this position will play a crucial role in maintaining our current, growing enrollment trajectory, and continuing to raise the profile of our high-quality programs.”
Perryman brings to Daemen a breadth of experience in marketing and communications, having most recently served as director of marketing and public relations at Trocaire College. She previously served as integrated media and digital strategy supervisor for Freed Maxick, a prominent, regional accounting firm.
“I’m thrilled to join Daemen College, and I look forward to collaborating with members of all areas of the college community to continue to enhance the institution’s reputation as a college of national distinction,” said Perryman. “I want to thank President Olson and Vice President Mary Glenn for this wonderful opportunity. Together we will advance the college’s brand and reinforce Daemen as a college of choice for students locally and beyond.”
Active in the community and involved with various organizations, Perryman serves on the board of the National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York and is the co-founder of Unite By Night, a local nonprofit startup that supports Western New York nonprofits and community stakeholders who combat racism, bias, and discrimination while promoting diversity and inclusion. She is also currently involved in several fundraising, leadership, and young professionals initiatives with the Western New York Women’s Foundation.
Perryman received a bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing communications from the State University of New York Fashion Institute of Technology and a young professionals leadership certificate from Canisius College’s Center for Professional Development. She will complete a master’s in social and public policy from Empire State College this year.
