Several Daemen College graphic design majors and recent graduates have received 2019 Western New York Advertising Awards (ADDYs), the region’s premier competition for excellence in advertising, from the American Advertising Federation Buffalo Chapter.
“We congratulate our students and alumni for having their outstanding work recognized by industry experts,” said Christian Brandjes, chair of Daemen’s Visual and Performing Arts Department. “These awards are a testament to their exceptional creative talents and our high quality educational programs that prepare students for career success.”
Daemen senior graphic design majors who collaborated on the poster for the “Daemen All High Art Weekend” campaign earned a Silver ADDY in the Special Events Material category. Student award winners are Samantha Doyle of Buffalo; Megan Fox of Lancaster; Andrew Greenway of Brooklyn; Rachel Jankowski of Buffalo; and Samantha Wahl of Akron.
The student team’s All High materials, which were produced for a semester-long campaign and branding project, received a second Silver ADDY in the Integrated B-to-B Advertising category.
Two 2018 Daemen graphic design graduates were also recognized for work completed during their senior year at the college.
Jessica Mjoen received ADDY’s Student Best of Show honor for “Visionary Magazine,” making it the second consecutive year she earned this top recognition following her student team’s win in 2018. Noah Herman was presented a Gold ADDY in the Integrated Consumer Advertising Campaign category for “Synthetic Jubilation.”
