Dr. Gina Kearney joined Daemen College last fall as an assistant professor of nursing, having most recently served as an adjunct faculty member in the department.
Kearney, who has 30 years of experience as a nursing professional, has previously worked as a director of nursing education, development and research and director of community education at South Nassau Communities Hospital. She has also served as a clinical assistant professor of nursing at New York University.
A specialist in population health, Kearney was the seventh person in the country to receive certification as an advanced practice holistic nurse, a specialty she has worked in as both a clinician and administrator.
In addition to her teaching position at Daemen, Kearney provides seminars and screenings to businesses and corporations throughout Western New York as an educator/screener for HealthFitness Corp.
Kearney has served as a board member of several local chapters of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing, and is a past member of the American Nurses Association, the New York Organization of Nurse Executives, and the American Holistic Nurses Association. She is also a reiki master and nationally certified reflexologist.
Kearny earned a doctor of philosophy in nursing from Molloy College, a post-master’s certificate in advance practice holistic nursing from New York University, a master’s degree in nursing from Yale University, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Bowling Green State University.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, biking, and photography. She resides in North Tonawanda.
