Three Daemen College/Rosary Hill College graduates will be honored for their contributions in the Western New York community at the 2018 National Philanthropy Day celebration being hosted on Nov. 14 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Western New York Chapter.
This year’s celebration will include recognition of Rosary Hill College (now Daemen College) alumni Joyce Fink ’52, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser; Pamela Jacobs Vogt ’67, Outstanding Philanthropist, and Mary Alice McClusky ’67, the college’s Distinguished Honoree recipient.
“We congratulate our outstanding graduates for these well-deserved recognitions and commend them for their commitment and philanthropic work in our community,” said Craig Harris, vice president for institutional advancement. “The individual achievements of each of these honorees are truly impressive.”
Daemen selected McClusky, who earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, as the college’s Distinguished Honoree in recognition of her more than 50 years of advocacy and contributions to Daemen. The Distinguished Honoree Program offers AFP WNY Chapter members the opportunity to recognize those who have gone above and beyond for their organization.
In another philanthropic celebration, Daemen will participate in the 2018 Giving Tuesday initiative on Nov. 27, a worldwide movement to celebrate philanthropy and to encourage charitable giving.
During this year-end 24-hour effort, all those in the college community will have the opportunity to show their support for the college and make a gift to the Daemen Annual Fund. Gifts of any size will help support student scholarships, facility enhancements, and academic and co-curricular programs.
“Giving Tuesday is a wonderful opportunity for the Daemen community to come together to make a difference in the lives of our students,” said Meghan Kloss, annual giving director. “We are excited to participate in this global day of generosity.”
Please join us in this worldwide giving movement by showing your support for the Daemen Annual Fund on Giving Tuesday. Additional information will be available in the coming days.
