A Daemen College student advertising campaign earned both the Student Best of Show and a Gold Award at the 2018 Western New York American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) ceremony, an annual celebration of creative excellence in advertising.
The group project, “Daemen All High: See and Be Seen” campaign, was produced for the college’s 49th annual All High Exhibition, which showcases artwork by high school students from Western New York and surrounding areas.
Daemen senior graphic design majors involved in the winning campaign include Noah Herman of Warsaw; Shelby Janczyk of Hamburg; Jessica Mjoen of Silver Creek; Jason Murawski of Amherst; Randy Oviasogie of Williamsville; Joseph Pietromicca of West Seneca; Danielle Romaneo of Cheektowaga; Daniel Rosina of Tonawanda; and Anna Simpson of Akron.
In addition to the Best of Show ADDY, Jessica Mjoen received a Student Gold Award for her entry “Touch Magazine.”
“We are incredibly proud of our students for being recognized for their creative talents and abilities,” said Christian Brandjes, chair of visual and performing arts. “The success of our students in this competition speaks to the high level of excellence our programs offer and our focus on building vital skills this will benefit students in their careers.”
More than 500 professional and student entries in this year’s ADDYs were judged by advertising industry professionals from Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Washington, D.C.
