Kristen Klyczek
Kristen Klyczek, who received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Daemen College, started her professional career in acute care and home health, and then focused on physical therapy services for children. She went on to earn a doctorate in rehabilitation science from the University at Buffalo, where she examined the sensory and motor skills of children with autism spectrum disorders. During her doctoral studies, she returned to Daemen as an assistant professor of physical therapy.
Relocating to Canandaigua, Klyczek returned to clinical work and became an advanced mentored clinician in sensory processing disorders through the STAR Center in Denver. She opened the Adventures in Movement and Sensation Center, which offers sensory and movement based play and party opportunities for children of all ability levels. The center is also home to Kristen Klyczek Physical Therapy, PLLC, where she provides sensory-based testing and treatment for children with sensory processing disorders and aims to meet the unmet needs of children who do not otherwise qualify for typical services or require additional physical therapy care.
“I am incorporating my skills and experiences from Daemen and beyond to provide services that are otherwise unoffered in my area,” said Klyczek. “To know that I am impacting both my profession and community in such a positive way has been so fulfilling and has made a dream come true that started at Daemen.”
