Paul Michaud ‘99
As a graduate from Daemen College in 1999 from the Physical Therapy department, Paul began his career path with a solid foundation; he notes, “at Daemen, I learned how to take care of people.” Paul Michaud began his career focused in the basic sciences, liberal arts, and patient care.
He continued his studies after graduating from Daemen College, earning a Master’s Degree in Science Education in 2000. Dr. Michaud was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army the same year. Paul attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Science where he received a Medical Degree in 2004. In 2005, he completed a Transitional Internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. Paul continued his medical training at Water Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC, where he graduated from the Radiology Residency in 2009 and the Nuclear Medicine Fellowship in 2010. Following a short period as a Nuclear and General Radiologist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Paul continued his service in the U.S. Army in returning to Eisenhower Army Medical Center, where he was named the Chief of Nuclear Medicine in 2011. Paul was quickly promoted to the Chief of Radiology, later that same year, a position typically reserved for an Officer two ranks senior to MAJ Michaud.
In 2013, Paul was promoted to serve as the Assistant Deputy Commander of Clinical Services at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He has also served as the Deputy Nuclear Medicine Consultant, Office of the Surgeon General. Paul is currently a Major in the Medical Corps.
Paul remains clinically engaged as a Nuclear and General Radiologist at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He has been described by his supervisors as being “a stunning talent, with absolutely unlimited potential.” Michaud’s focus is patient-centered care and fiscally-responsible practices. Paul has received the Meritorious Service Medal, Two Army Commendation Medals, the Army Achievement Medal, and admittance into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
This year, Paul received the Daemen College/ Rosary Hill Alumni Association’s top honor, as the Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient. Paul currently resides in Evans, Georgia with his wife Jamie, and their sons, Paul, James, Andrew, David and Luke.
