Daemen College has scheduled April 26 as its first-ever Day of Giving, a 24-hour fundraising campaign that will invite the college community to come together to offer their support for students and the institution.
For the inaugural Daemen Day of Giving, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends will have the opportunity to make an online gift any time during the daylong fundraising effort. Gifts will benefit student scholarships, academic programs, co-curricular enhancements, including athletics and student life, and the Daemen CARES Fund, which provides emergency financial support to students.
“Day of Giving is a unique effort to engage our donors in a meaningful way and will show the collective impact their generosity can have on our students and the college,” said Craig Harris, vice president for institutional advancement. “We look forward to offering the college community a chance to be a part of this initiative as we celebrate the spirit of giving throughout this daylong campaign.”
The one-day giving campaign will also help raise awareness on the importance of giving and expand the reach of Daemen’s fundraising efforts.
“For those who have never given before to the college, Daemen Day of Giving is an excellent time to do so,” said Justin Johnston, director of development and gift officer. “For our current donors, they can take their giving to the next level or encourage others to offer their support. Every gift counts.”
A goal of 426 gifts has been set for the first Daemen Day of Giving, which will include matching gift challenges throughout the day. Gifts may be made in advance of the campaign or on April 26 by visiting the Daemen Day of Giving Web site.
On the day of the giving campaign, the site will also include a countdown clock and real time updates on the number of gifts coming in. Members of the Daemen community are encouraged to help spread awareness before and during the campaign by using the official hashtag #daemendayofgiving.
