Daemen University has been designated a 2045-25 Equity & Inclusion College of Distinction. This marks Daemen’s seventeenth consecutive year of recognition from Colleges of Distinction and a first for special recognition in our efforts to ensure equitable treatment and accessibility to resources and programs that offer additional support to underserved communities among students, faculty, and staff.
“Everyone deserves the chance to pursue a worthwhile education in a welcoming environment,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. “We understand that systemic barriers have impeded many populations from pursuing a degree, both past and present. Daemen, too, is constantly working to create a more just environment, from the policy level down to the everyday student experience. We are excited to see how Daemen will continue to learn and grow alongside the needs of its underrepresented communities.”
Daemen earned the Equity & Inclusion award following a thorough review of our initiatives that support diverse populations, food and housing security, physical and mental health care, financial aid, academic inclusion, campus activities, and community support.
“We are so proud of this honor that recognizes the work the university has done to become a welcoming community for many,” said Tiffany Hamilton, Vice President for Institutional Equity and Belonging and director of HEOP.
